Our writing efforts are paying-off with a new batch of songs underway, some of which can be heard at www.myspace.com/holosceneband.
We'll be joining Iceland's For A Minor Reflection on the eastern Canadian leg of their North American tour, on March 27 at La Cagibi in Montreal, March 28 at Mercury Lounge in Ottawa, and March 29 at The Boat in Toronto.
Last, but certainly not least, Mr. Warren Ellis included a demo of one of our new songs, "Death Machine" on his 4am podcast. In his own words: "'Death Machine' is in demo state - thanks, Holoscene, because I love it. I’ve liked stuff by Holoscene before, but I find the raw condition of this distant, melancholy postrock study gives it a vital human skin and pulse."
You can hear "Death Machine" here: www.myspace.com/holosceneband
Dorian, Trevor, Rob and Maz are taking a much-needed break and will commence writing material this autumn, which we will periodically post on www.myspace.com/holosceneband. We thank you very much for coming out to the shows we've played this year. We're looking forward to playing our new material for you.

I just wanted to thank everyone who came out last night to hear us at Son/Lumiere. It was great to play for such an enthusiastic audience.
Big thanks to Theo for lending his amazing talent for improvised projections, and to all the participants in Son/Lumiere. It was a real pleasure to see so many creative people collaborating to make a very special experience come together.
Epigram put on a stellar show, and blew the audience away. To have an opportunity to share a stage with such talented artists as Nadja, StillCoiled, Ragni, Epigram, Theo Buchinskas, Nick Fox-Gieg and Altered (i), was truly an honour for us. I really want to thank Richelle Forsey and Jones for being so cool and supportive of our music. In the middle of her insane schedule, Richelle found the time to spend an afternoon with us taking promo shots. She also wrote a review of the night at http://www.blogto.com. We're so fortunate to have connected with such a generous and dedicated group of people. I also want to thank Amy Williamson for helping out in so many ways at our live shows and beyond.
It's been a busy summer for us, with a lot of live shows, and a lot of time spent on the band. We had a wicked time on our mini-tour with Tunturia, and got to spend a lot of time hanging out and talking about music, which was very cool. Really looking forward to their follow-up to Maps.
Once again we just want to thank everyone who has helped us and encouraged us over the last year. It's been our pleasure to bring you our music.

Holoscene and Tunturia are hitting the road tomorrow, be sure to come down for a great night of music if you live near London, Peterborough, Guelph, Hamilton or Toronto.
It's a long weekend of touring and back to school weekend in a way too, so if you're heading back to study or even to start studying it's a good opportunity to hear some good music and drink, rock out a bit and have fun before all the lectures and books begin to become less and less appealing while staying in bed becomes more and more so.
Either way, there's no work for most of it so get as drunk as you want and stay out late at a show (that's what we are doing anyway).
Come down and say hi!
Thanks to all who came out to our cd release party at neutral. your support and enthusiasm is way beyond appreciated. it was our pleasure to perform once again for you. thanks to neutral, dj lawrence, amy and stacey, wild@heart and all of our friends, fans and family

Holoscene are now being played on farpastpost.net which is an awesome online radio station playing post-rock/metal and generally good alternative music such as Godpseed YBE, Explosions in The Sky, Tristeza, Pelican, Mogwai and hours and hours more of great music.

*pheweeee* ...just starting to feel like a human again now...
Yesterday was quite the rollercoster, culminating in arriving at the venue (early coz we're keeners) only to find it'd just had its liquor license revoked and all the beer confiscated... people were being told this at the door when they arrived, and everyone there for the first band rushed out and got on their cell phones after, spreading the word that there was no booze at The Comfort Zone. Eeek!
Despite this little hiccup, we still managed to draw in a good number of enthusiastic punters for our performance, had a fantastic time, and much like the last time we played a show for one of Dan Burke's events, we were treated very very well by all the folks and volunteers at the venue (thank you).
We also sold a shockingly large amount of CDs considering how the club had been hurt by the lack of beer to sell. To put to rest some of the wilder rumours that were being thrown about, it was nothing dodgy, the license was revoked by some asshat with a chip on their shoulder due to a technicality, not because of underage patrons or beverages being carried outside of the venue etc.
This was our first time playing The Comfort Zone, the sound was great, and the room has a nice vibe, we thoroughly enjoyed performing, and would like also extend a big thank you to everyone that came and saw us play, warm crowd. What's sweet in a way is you KNOW they had to be standing there for the music, not just finishing their beer, or killing time before catching another band performing later. Heh!

We have been invited to play at this year's North by Northeast festival at the Comfort Zone (480 Spadina) on Saturday June 9th. We're very excited for this opportunity, and invite everyone to come along and check us out. Also appearing that night are Z'Houndz, The Brown Hornets, Throbbing Purple and Grimskunk.
The music begins at 9pm and we take the stage at 10pm.
Our thanks to Dan Burke and the festival organizers!
A new music and art series begins at the Gladstone Hotel Ballroom on May 3rd. There are going to be some really good artists, VJs, filmmakers, photographers and musicians and it will be a good place to discover new developments in the Toronto scene.
We'll also be playing! (bathed in film, light, images and surrounded by beautiful work by 'r', Anna Joukova and Theo Buchinskas).
Our friends Tunturia and Kerosene Daydream are also playing as well as DJ Gad Zuchs to round off the night. I'm looking to get a couple of ambient/electronica acts to open the show so this one could just be unmissable. Below are links to the artists taking part:

The Silver Dollar Room NXNE Discovery Series was great fun, and a bit of a catharsis for the four of us, coming off of 3-4 weeks of work, graphic design, more work, mastering, recording, moving house, and general life busy-ness.
It's always fun to play live to an appreciative audience, and we certainly had that on Tuesday night. Thanks to everyone who came out and thanks to Dan and Tony at the Silver Dollar Room for having us.
Trevor, holoscene
NXNE want to take a closer look at us, how we perform live, and what our audience draw is like.
We would love to meet all of you, your support and kind words have helped to get us through the cold grey winter. Our last two gigs were marred by lousy weather, maybe this will be our lucky night and we'll only have hail and brimstone.
It's only $5.00
